How to do an Energetic Cleansing

An energetic cleansing of years past…

As we enter a new year, we need to do so slowly.  But please, for the love of whatever you believe in, stop entering it like Jacob Marley.  Yes, that guy…the one who drags the chains he forged in life all around even in death.

I have seen it so many times. Person comes to you (or the internet) for advice.  Person doesn’t really want advice because they want to correct you and tell you why your advice won’t work.  Person gets angry at you for ahem, themselves coming to you for advice.  Pattern repeats.

They enter the year dragging all the old energy with it, and with it comes all the old patterns, all the old habits and all the old ways.  They live the same day over and over and do not try to change anything about their patterns. They are energetically stuck.

It’s possible they get mad at you for making improvements or changes to your life, and eventually your relationship with this person runs its course as they won’t evolve.

Let’s look at some ways to refresh our energy, in an honest and responsible way.

Cleaning or clearing stagnant aura energy is often associated with practices that aim to restore balance and harmony to your energy field. Here are some techniques that people use for this purpose:

  1. Smudging:
    • Use sage, palo santo, or other cleansing herbs to create smoke. Pass the smoke around your body, paying attention to areas where you feel the energy is stagnant. Visualize the smoke absorbing and dispelling negativity. An alternative is sprays that you make for your space or lighting candles.
  2. Salt Baths:
    • Take a bath with Epsom salt or sea salt. Salt is believed to absorb negative energy. While in the bath, visualize the saltwater cleansing and rejuvenating your aura.  Here’s a nice one.
  3. Visualization and Meditation:
    • Sit in a quiet space, close your eyes, and visualize a bright, pure light surrounding you. Imagine this light gradually expanding and pushing away any dark or stagnant energy. Regular meditation can also help maintain a balanced and clear aura.
  4. Sound Therapy:
    • Use sound to cleanse your aura. This can include singing bowls, tuning forks, or even listening to specific frequencies that are believed to have healing properties. The vibrations are thought to help break up stagnant energy.
  5. Nature Connection:
    • Spend time in nature to recharge and cleanse your energy. Walk barefoot on the ground (grounding) or sit with your back against a tree, allowing the natural energy of the earth to flow through you.  Don’t forget to bring some plants inside your living space as well.
  6. Declutter Your Space:
    • A cluttered environment can contribute to stagnant energy. Decluttering and organizing your living space can help create a more harmonious energy flow.
  7. Eat more plants:
    • A plant-based diet can help rid you of inflammation that could be causing discomfort in the body.  If you aren’t ready to go all-in on that, try autoimmune paleo protocols for a bit to change things up.

Remember, these practices are based on personal beliefs and spiritual traditions. It’s essential to approach them with an open mind and find what resonates best with you. Additionally, if you’re experiencing persistent negative energy or emotional issues, it may be helpful to consult with a healthcare professional or mental health practitioner.
