Sometimes, when I need motivation, I will open this tiny book I have told everyone about, and find the first saying that jumps out at me.  The book is called Instant Karma.  Thoughts are swirling all the time and when I opened it up today, it said “let go of your attachment to the outcome.”  How easy would that be?  If I focus on doing something for me, just for me, and I don’t wonder what if, wouldn’t I enjoy the moment more?  Of course I would.

Happiness can’t be defined by certain things.  We only feel that way.  My friend posted this wonderful video about a boy dying of cancer.  Why do I say wonderful?  Because he was absolutely amazing.  Amazing on levels that most of us will never reach.  He wanted to live in the moments he had left and his family was so supportive.  I can’t imagine how they are dealing with things now that he is gone, but hopefully he taught them to live in the present moment and not worry about the outcome.  That was how he was living his life.  It was inspiring.

What I am working on, is releasing the need to know how things will work out.  No one is guaranteed another day.  It’s just that simple.  Letting go of attachments to the outcome should be as easy as releasing a balloon in the sky.  Set the plan in motion and if it’s meant to be, it will be.

“Suffering is not holding you.  You are holding suffering.  When you become good at the art of letting sufferings go, then you’ll come to realize how unnecessary it was for you to drag those burdens around with you.  You’ll see that no one else other than you was responsible.  The truth is that existence wants your life to become a festival.”  ~Osho
