Happy Mother’s Day…
A small collection of quotes on being a mother. And a revised note to my own Mother.
I am a pain in the ass. I have never claimed that I am perfect. From age 3, when I apparently said my first cuss word, then not saying them out loud…only in my head, to back around to being mostly unfiltered once again. I am wild. I ran in the woods from the time I got home from school until the last light was left. My mother had to pick burrs out of my hair, get ticks off me, and I had paint myself with nail polish once just to cover chigger bites. I can’t remember if I had a leech on me, but I know I got one off my friend. I played with frogs and one of my grandmother’s told me my warts, yes I had them on my fingers, came from the frogs. I have 2 speeds. FULL out and then off. I love so deeply it hurts my soul to see others in pain, but make me mad and you will wish you had not. I allow more than I should at times and I see too much. And I was once told that perhaps I wouldn’t be able to have children…but I did. Two girls. You know that thing mother’s tell you? I hope you have one just like you? Well I had two…luckily for me they are half me and half their father. Not one of us is perfect and we are all doing the best we can. My mother told me I never came with a rule book, and to be sure, even if I had, it wouldn’t have been written in a language she could understand. But mom, I love you and I appreciate you. No matter what and I know that you love me right back. ~Aimee
